The Pardoner's Tale Irony

Ever want to know about the irony in The Pardoner’s Tale? Well I am going to tell you about three examples, and here they are: How the Pardoner was greedy, yet the purpose of his tale was to not be greedy; How they tried to kill death, yet death killed them; How the two men at the tree wanted to kill the man who went to the store, then he came back and killed them.

The two men sent the third one to the town to get wine and bread, and also to find the safest way to bring the money in at night. While he was gone, they planned to kill him, but the one in town decided to kill them. This would show the reader some of the things that will be  explained next.

In the story the three men went to kill death, yet by the end of the day they all killed each other over the money that was found do that they could have a bigger share.  This would show the reader that they should not be greedy because karma will come back.

In The Canterbury Tales, the Pardoner was a greedy man. So its ironic how he tells a story with a message saying not to be greedy, which would make some readers think about what his morals are.

There are many ironic things in this story. but only certain things will catch the readers eye.

Two Themes on Pygmalion

    This blog is about Pygmalion  and two themes about it, which I relate too on a personal level. The two themes I will be talking about are how people are not always what they seem, and Higgins philosophy, or what he things about love.
     First, people are not always who they seem. Liza was dirt poor, sold flowers to get by, and was in the lower class. As was her father. They both become middle class buy having money, taking a class, or by having manners. Liza can always go back to the way she was, even though she thinks she could not. Higgins teaches manners and the ways of a middle or high class male or female and teaches manners, yet he has no manners himself. he has money, yes, which makes him middle class, but he teaches people manners when he has none himself. To me, people are not always what they seem, but you also cant change a person and expect them to stay that way.
     Another theme I connected to was Higgins view on love. He does not  believe that there is "love", he believes there is an attraction towards someone but does not believe that love actually exists. I think that Higgins was just afraid to fall in love with anyone because he thinks he is better then everyone and does not need anyone. He prefers to be by himself, which is fine, but that does not mean that love does not exist.
    Well, thats a short blog about what I think about the themes in Pygmalion. Well, at least the two I connect on on a personal level. I hope you enjoyed it.

Goals

     This blog is about the type of goals I would like to accomplish for myself as in life goals, and goals for a couple years from now. This may not be interesting for most people, or it may help someone with a general idea of what they think they might want to do.
     First I am going to discuss goals I would like to accomplish as a senior in high school.  For example I would like to pass the AHSGE so that I can graduate with an advanced diploma instead of a credit based diploma. I would also like to graduate with a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) or above. I will hopefully achieve that by trying harder in school. The grad exams are difficult but I know that if I try harder I will pass them.
     Im not that sure what I will be doing but I want to be a graphic designer or maybe a tattoo artist or be in something that involves computers and/or art. I may or may not go to college after high school. If I do decide to go to college, I would do my main courses first then major in computer arts.
     Like the previous paragraph, I hope to be doing something that involves art and/or computers. I hope to still live around this area, but who knows.  I know that I do not want to be stuck at a job that I do not like. I want to work in a field that I am good at, and something that I love to do.
